The Primary Record keeps a short, sourced and nonpartisan history of one 2020 presidential primary campaign.
About this address
From late 2019 to 2020 this address held the website of Deval for All, Deval Patrick's campaign for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. After the campaign ended the domain lapsed and later changed hands. The Primary Record is written by new, independent editors. It is not the campaign's website or a successor to it, and it has no connection with Deval Patrick, the campaign, any campaign committee or any political party. It takes no donations, collects no sign-ups, endorses no one and does not advocate for any policy.
How the history is written
Dates and proposals come from campaign documents archived by the American Presidency Project at UC Santa Barbara. Proposals are described in the past tense, as the campaign published them, without assessment.
Why every page ends with a Dutch energy guide
Many of the campaign's proposals came back to household costs: health care, wages, the electric grid and the bills that follow from them.
